I’m no fan of starting back after two great weeks of sleeping in and hanging out. No homework, projects or driving like a mad woman through town. School will be back in session tomorrow and the necessary madness begins.
My kids thought it would be a great idea to write a post about the daily drawings that have become a huge hit with all their friends.
Instructions:(I do it the night before so I’m not rushing in the morning):
Using a black marker, draw on a napkin one of your child’s favorite characters. Include this drawing along with their lunch. Fill in lightly with different color makers. Be careful you don’t rip the paper. Please make sure to include an extra napkin that they can use along with their lunch.
When I was out-of-town my husband’s drawings were not that great. I thought why not trace it right from the computer screen? Just maximize the image of the character and using a thin napkin, trace the figure with a black marker. It has to be the thin napkins and not paper towels like I’ve used for these drawings. Paper towels are too thick and you won’t be able to trace well.
Color with markers lightly so the napkin won’t break.
Every day my kids will give one of their friends the napkin to keep. I keep the characters a surprise until they open their lunch boxes that day.
Brown paper bags are also fun. I’m not sure if the tracing on the computer screen will actually work for the bags since they’re darker and heavier material.
Some PB&J Love!
