Anything to get my boys to love reading as much as I do.  Trust me…it’s been a struggle since they started to read.  There are books that catch their attention right away, this series has been one of those.

Taylor was soooo excited when the new Tom Angleberger’s book, The Secret of the Fortune Wookiee (Origami Yoda Series #3) was finally at bookstores.  We ordered our book right away from Amazon.com and he devoured it in no time.  We had no clue that  Barnes & Noble is selling a special edition which includes a cut out sheet for you to make your own fortune Wookiee.  He was a bit disappointed that his book didn’t include it.  So I did what any parent would do….got home and made him one out of construction paper.  He helped me make the fortune-teller part, and I got inspired by looking at the cover of his book.

He loves it so much he says it’s even better than the one from the book!  Actually, he said, “Mom, you’re so epic”.  I guess that’s good?  Who knows?  I’m just happy I could make him smile.  He’s decided to donate it to the school library so all the kids can enjoy his “mom’s epicness”.

Now that’s a great way to start our weekend.
